Second World War at Sea: Strait of Magellan Scenario Book
At the far southern tip of South America, the Strait of Magellan allows passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Protected from the fierce storms of Cape Horn, it remained a literal backwater during the Second World War as warships and cargo traffic passed through the Panama Canal instead. But US Army Chief of Staff George C. Marshall feared that the Canal might be damaged by the Japanese, in which case the Strait would become a vital choke point. Strait of Magellan is a supplement for the Second World War at Sea series of games, with 10 scenarios based on battles that might have taken place in and around the strategic Strait, but did not actually occur. Strait of Magellan includes just this booklet; you'll also need maps from our Cone of Fire game and pieces from our Cone of Fire, Midway, Arctic Convoy, Bismarck, Bomb Alley and Leyte Gulf games and East of Suez supplement. |
